Awards ceremonies and pack-wide celebrations are an important part of the scouting experience to recognize achievement and advancement as well as spending time with other members of the pack outside of their den, learning about each other, laughing and having fun! Some of the different types of advancement ceremonies and pack celebrations that scouts participate in throughout the year are described below.
Blue and Gold BanquetMost Cub Scouts celebrate Scouting Anniversary Week in February with a "birthday party" called the blue and gold banquet. The purpose of the blue and gold banquet is to celebrate the pack's anniversary, thank pack leaders and other adults who have helped the pack, and inspire the leaders, Scouts, and parents. Packs often like to invite former members and other Scouting or community leaders to take part in their blue and gold banquet. The banquet can be like a regular pack meeting, with songs, skits, stunts, and awards. Or it can be something different and a little more special.

Crossing Over CeremonyThe Crossing Over Ceremony is an event to celebrate and recognize scouts completing the Arrow of Light rank. Crossing over is an important milestone in the life of a scout, marking his successful completion of the Cub Scout program and transition into the adventures and achievements of Boy Scouts. The scouts taking this step have worked hard and their decision to cross over reflects their continued commitment to the ideals of outdoorsmanship, community service, and leadership that underlie the scouting program.

End of Year Pool Party
This family friendly event celebrates the conclusion of Pack 507's scouting year. Each scout that has completed their achievements is awarded their rank badge. In addition, belt loops, patches and religious emblems that have been earned will also be presented to cub scouts that have completed the requirements. These awards mark the growth and development each scout has made and help foster a sense of community. Typically held in early June, this event provides fun outdoor activities, swimming and a not-to-be missed game of greased watermelon!
